- IIL And whereas no Prefine is payable on any Writ of Covenant where the Lands and Tene--

- lings and eight Pence hath been antiently fet and payable to the Crown on every fuch Writ of
' Covenant, as and for the King's Licence being granted to the Parties in fuch Writ of Covenant named to accord ;' Be it therefore further enabled by the Authority aforefaid. That from and after Where no Prefine is • the faid firfl Day of Trir/ity Term, in all Cafes where no Prefine fhall be payable on any Writ of payable on the Writ, Covenant, the Officer or Officers at the faid Alienation Office, whofe Duty it is to fet and indorfe the '^^.°*i" " the Aiie-* Prefine on every Writ of Covenant on which a Prefme is payable, fhall fet on every Writ of Cove- Tpoft FiS'of' Vs! id! nant brought to the faid Alienation Office, on which no Prefine fhall be payable, a Poft Fine of thereon, fix Shillings and eight Pence, as hath been ajitientiy ufually put, at the faid King's Silver Office, on every Writ of Covenant on which no Prefine was payable; and fliall indorfe fuch Pofl Fine of ^nd indorfe the fame, fix Shillings and eight Pence on every fuch Writ of Covenant, together with his or their Name or Mal^^df ^X^e ^""^ Names, and Mark of Office, in the like Manner as it hath been ufual to indorfe fuch Writs of -phe faid Sum of 6s. 8 d. Covenant at the faid Alienation Office ; and every fuch Poft Fine of fix Shillings and eight Pence to be paid before the Ihall be paid to the faid Receiver of the faid Alienation Office, before the Writ of Covenant on Writ pafs the Alienation which no Prefine is payabje fhall be pafled at the faid Alienation Office j and the faid Receiver, on O^ce. Payment of the faid fix Shillings and eight Pence, fhall indorfe on and mark every fuch Writ of ^;;^;^';;^'^^j;;.^"^^^* of Covenant, in like Manner as other Writs of Covenant are by this- Act before direifled to be in- Writ.' doT(c^ and marked by fuch laid Receiver, IV. And be it further enacted by the Authority aforefaid. That the Officer or Clerk of the Clerk of the Silver Of- King's Silver Office, or his Deputy, from and after the faid firll Day of Trinity Term one thoufand '^^f lo receive no Wnt fcven hundred, and fifty-nine, fhall not receive any Writ or Writs of Covenant, unlefs it fhall ap- not beel paid° *' pear by the Mark and Iiidorfement of fuch Receiver as aforefiiid, that- the Pofl Fine has been paid thereon. , V. Provided neverthekfs, That if after the Payment of fuch Poft Fine or Poft Fines as afore- If the Writ /hall be pr«- faid, the faid Writ or Writs of Covenant fhall, by the Death of any of the Parties named therein, rented from pa/Ting the or for any other Caufe whatfoever, be prevented or hindered from paffing through the feveral other 'everai ofti^ces, ^«i^^e- Gffices, fo as the faid Fine or Fines is or are not, or cannot be compleated ; that then and in every pine^'lo'^tlje t:ogni'-9(:.° fuch Cafe, the faid Receiver fhall repay to the Cognizee or Cognizees, in every fuch V/rit or Writs of Covenant, his, her or their Attorney or Agent, on their producing and filing with him the faid Writ or Writs of Covenant^ all and every, fuch Sum and Sums of Money as fhall have been before by him received thereon as and for the Pofl Fine or Poft Fines ; and fuch Writ or V/rits of Cove- nant fo remaining filed with fuch Receiver, fliall be and is hereby declared to be a fufficient Dif- (.iiarge to fuch Receiver, for fuch Sum or Sums of A'loney as he fhall fo repay as aforefaid.
