A.D. 1757. of the Fortunate as the Blank Ticket, fhall be named aloud ; and if the Ticket taken or drawn from the iJox containing the Fortunate and Blank Lot?, fliall appear to be a Blank, then the numbered Ticket fo diawn with the faid Blank at the fame Time drawn, Ihall be both put upon one F'ile j and if the Ticket fo drawn or taken from the Box containing the fortunate and Blank Lots, fhall appear to be one of the Fortunate 'I'ickets, then the principal Sum written upon fuch Fortunate Ticket, whatever it be, fhall be entered by a Clerk, which the faid Managers or Directors, or the Major Part of them as aforefaid, fhall employ and overfee for this Purpofe, into a Book to be kept for entering the Numbers coming up with the faid Fortunate Tickets, and the principal Sums whereunto they lliall be intitled refpectively, and two of the find Managers fhall fet their Nahies as Wituefles to fuch Entries ; and the faid fortunate and numbered Tickets fo drawn together, fliall be put upon another File; and fo the faid Drawing of the Tickets fliall continue by taking one Ticket at a Time out of each Box, and with opening, naming aloud, and filing the fame, and by entering the fortunate Lots, in fuch Method as is before mentioned, until the whole Number of fevcn hun.dred and fifty-fix Fortunate Tickets, and one more for the laft as aforefaid. That if any Perfon or Perfons fliall forge ing Tickets or Of Counterfeit any Receipt or Receipts, Ticket or Tickets, Certificate or Certificates, to be made forth Certificates. jn purfuance of this A<i, or alter any the Numbers thereof, or utter, vend, barter, or difpofe of, or offer to difpofe of, any f; Ife, altered, forged or counterfeited Receipt or Receipts, Ticket or Tickets, Cer- tificate or Certificates, or bring any forged or counterfeit Receipt, Ticket or Certificate, or any Receipt, Ticket or Certificate, the Number whereof is altered (knowing the fame to be fuch) to the faid ^Managers or Directors, or any of them, or to the faid Governor and Company of the Bank of England^ or their Calhier or Cafliiers, or other Officers for the "Fime being, or to any fuch Receiver or Receivers, or to any other Perfon or Perfons whatfoever, with a fraudulent Intention ; then every fuch Perfon being thereof Felony, convicted in due Form of Law, ihall be adjudged a Felon, and fliall fuffer Death as in Cafes of Felony, without Benefit of Clergy ; and the faid Managers or Directors, or any two or more of them, are hereby authorized and required to caufe any Perfon or Perfons bringing or uttering fuch forged or counterfeit Receipt, Ticket or Tickets, Certificate or Certificates as aforefaid, to be apprehehended, and to com- mit him, her or them to his Majcfty's Gaol oi Newgate, or the Common Gaol of the County or Place where fuch Perfon or Perfons Ihall be fo apprehended, to be proceeded againfl for the faid Felony accord- ing to Law. ^rJnJ?^r8 to be XV'IL Provided always, and it is hereby ena6led by the Authority aforefaid.
