XXXVI. Floor whereof to be three Feet at leaft lower than the prefent Floor o Lodoivick's Goivt, and its neat Capacity, order Water Way, to be fifty Feet wide at leaft, with three or more Pair of pointing Doors to the Seav/ard, to fhut with the Flow of the Tides; and alfo pointing Frames provided with Drop or Draw Doors on the Land- fidc or to Landward, to be fliut occafionally, as the faid Commiffioners, or any feven or more of them, fhall di- re(5f, in order to retain frefh Waters in dry Seafonsfor theUfe of Cattle and the Navigation; the Top of which Draw Doors to be gauged to fuch a Height as to retain the Water of the River not higher at ordinary Seafons than two Feet below the medium Surface of the loweft Lands that drain therein; and alfo that the faid General Commiflioners, or any feven or more of them, fhall make, or caufe to be made, a new Cut from the faid Sluice or Sluices, unto or near unto Anthony's Gowt^ of the Breadth of eighty Feet at the Top, fifty Feet at the Bottom, and of the Depth of ten Feet at a Medium, more orlefs, as the Commiilioners fhall think proper, and in as ftraita Diredlion as the Nature of the Ground will properl/ admit ; and fhall make, or caufe to be made, a Bank on each Side thereof, at leaft forty Feet from the Prick of the Spade, and ten Feet high, with the Earth arifmg therefrom ; and alfo that the faid General Commiffioners, or any feven or more of them, fhall order and dire<ft the Engineers and Workmen to proceed, wi;h all conveni- ent Speed, in making a new Cut or Cuts to proceed from or near Anthony's Gowt to or near Langrike Ferry^ and from thence to or near Chappel Hill, the faid Cut or Cuts to be made as ftraight as may be, with- out doing any Damage to the Houfe or Ferry ?iX Langrike, (without hindering or prejudicing the Ufe or Working of the faid Ferry for Carriage of any Perfon, Cattle, or Carriages whatfoever, for Hire acrofs the faid Cut or Cuts) and as may confift with following the loweft Level of the Country, and fhall be moft proper for anfweringthe Purpofes of a general Drainage ; the faid Cut or Cuts to be not lefs at a Me- dium than of the following Dimenfions ; that is to fay, fixty-eight Feet at the Top, hfcy Feet at the Bot- tom, and nine Feet deep, the Earth to be taken therefrom to be difpofed in Bank Fafaion, at the Diflance of forty Feet from the Prick of the Spade, and to be made at a Medium nine P'eet high. XXXVIL And be it further enacSted, That the faid General Commiffioners, or any feven or m.ore of|^'b"Tj'ner them, {hall, and they are hereby impowered to cleanfe, fcour, widen, deepen, and imbank the River ^^/-^^.^ ' . iham, according to its prefent Courfe, from Chappel Hill to Stamp End near the City of Lincoln, where ne- ceffary, fo as to be anfwerable in Depth and Capacity to the Rivers and Cuts already dii e<3;cd to be made, and to remove all obftruftions, Fifhing Wears, and Impediments in the Channel of the faid River, and to do all other Matters and Things that fhall be neceffary or conducive towards efieding the Purpofes of the ge- -^"•'f^ce of the neral Drainage as high as Stainp End aforefaid. _ ZTl'^rCLZ XXXVIII. Provided always, and be it further ena6led, That the faid River and Cuts fhall be fo made as the medium's °r- to run ofF or reduce the Surface of the Water in the faid River, at ordinary Seafons, two Feet at leaflface Lands ad- below the medium Surface of the loweft Lands adjoining upon each Part thereof refpeftively. joining. XXXIX. And be it further enaded. That as foon as the Works before mentioned fhall be compleatedT^^ I^^™^^^'*^' as far as Chappel Hill, the faid General Commiffioners, or any feven or more of them, fhall and they are J'^be employed hereby required to caufe fuch a Number of Workmen to be employed in carrying on the Works upon the on the Mother Mother River above Chappel Hill, as fhall be at leaft equal to the Number of Workmen at the fame Time River as on the employed upon the Side Rivers, Banks, and Drains herein after mentioned. That the faid General Commiffioners, or any five or more of them, are Relating to An- hereby authorized, impowered, and required to caufe a new Gowt to be made and ere<!i^ed at the general "phony's Covvt & Expence, in the North Bank of the intended new Cut or River, at or near the Place where Anthony's Gozut^^^^ ^"^^^ * now ft^nds, and to caufe the faid Gowt to be begun upon as foon as the faid intended new Cut or River fliall be made as far up as to the Place where the faid intended new Gowt is to be ere£l:ed, and to caufe the fame to be finifhed with all convenient Speed; the faid new Gov/t to be made of one Arch or Tun of foiivteen Feet clear Waterway, and the Floor thereof to be laid as low as the Bed or Bottom of the faid intended new Cut or River, and to be of fuch Headway as the faid Commiffioners fliall think proper ; and the faid General Commiffioners, or any five or more of them, fhall caufe to be made at the general Ex- pence, a new Cut from the Place where the faid new Gowt fhall be ereiled, to the Place where Anthony's Govjt now ftands, of fufHcient Dimenfions for conveying the Waters of Wildmore and Weji Fens through the faid intended ne Gowt, and to be made as foon after the faid nev/" Gowt is finifhed as conveniently may be: And in cr.fe it fhall appear to the General Commiffioners of the fourth Diffridl, or any five or more of them, that the Commons called Wildmore and JVeJt Fens, and the low Grounds adjoining there- to, are not thoroughly drained through the faid new Gowt, it fhall and may be lawful for the faid General' Commiffioners o the fourth Diftrict, or any five or more of them, to order any new Cuts to be made, or any old ones to he fcoured out in the faid Commons, and alfo to order fuch further Works as they fhall tbixik iicceffary and proper for draining the laid iens and low Grounds through MmdFoJhr's Gowt, at the Ex-
