LV. Provided always, and it is hereby further enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That when and fo Governors, &c. often as any of the faid Governors,, Treafurers, or Receivers or' the faid River. And be it further enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That every Papift, or reputed Papift, iri p f a B$ s lS Year » England, Wales, or Berwick upon Tiveed, being at the Age of eighteen Years and upwards, who fhall not ° fj^e "oLhs'i have taken the Oaths mentioned and required to be taken by an Act made in England, in the firft Year of w & m. to pay the Reign of King William and Queen M.iry, intituled, An for abbrognting the Oaths of Supremacy and Al- double : legiance, and appointing other Oaths, {hall yield and pay to his Majefty double the Sums and Rates, which by force and virtue of any Claufe in this Act before-mentioned and contained, he or they mould or ought to pay and be charged with, to be affefled, levied, collected, anfwered, and paid in fuch manner, by fuch Ways and Means, and according to fuch Rules and Directions, and under fuch Penalties and Forfeitures, as are before in this Actexprefled or appointed, for and concerning the above-mentioned Rates and Sums. LVII. Provided neverthelefs, That if any fuch Papift, or reputed Papift, within ten Days after the firft Unlefs taken Meeting of the faid Commiffioners, in the refpective Counties or Places where he or {he ought to be taxed' within ioDays or affefled, according to the Intent of this prefent Act, {hall take the faid Oaths before any two or more af fi5 the c °™~ of the faid Commiffioners (which Oaths the faid two or more of the faid Commiffioners are hereby im- Meetin „ - powered to adminifter) in that cafe he or they {hall not be liable to be doubly affefled as aforefaid. LVIII. And be it further enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That every Perfon being of the Age ofperfons 18 Years eighteen Years and upwards, and being in England, Wales, or Berwick upon Tweed, at the Time of the of Age refufing Execution of this Act, who fhall not before that Time have taken the Oaths mentioned and required to the ° aths > t0 P a y ■ be taken by the faid laft mentioned Act, and upon Summons by Warrant under the Hands and Seals of any ou s ' ' two or more of the faid Commiffioners, fhall refufe to take the faid Oaths at the Time appointed in the faid Warrant, or {hall neglect to appear at fuch Time before the faid Commiffioners, in order to take the faid Oaths (which the laid Commiffioners or any two or more of them, are hereby impowered and required to adminifter} {hall yield and pay unto his Majefty double the Sums and Rates, which, by Force and Virtue of any Claufe of this Act before-mentioned and contained, he or {he fhould or ought to pay or be charged with, in manner as is before in this prefent Act appointed, touching Papifts, or reputed Papifts. LIX. LXI.
