2C6 APPENDIX. Authorifed and Required to Enter the fame in the like Alphabetical Order, in another Book of Parch- ment fairly written, to be provided for that Purpofe. IX. And be it further Enacted by the Authority aforcfaid, That the Commiflioners, or any two or more' of them, (hall iffue out their Warrants or Eftreats to the Subcollectprs, under their Hands and Seals, thereby requiring them to Levy and Collect all and every the Affeffments, and all the Moneys and Rates due thereupon, according to the Duplicate thereof by them received, and according to the in- tent and fublequent Directions of this prefent Act; Which (aid Subcollectors are hereby Required to demand all and every the Rates and Affeifments herein mentioned, which are laid upon Perfons in re- fpect of their Goods or Offices, and to make fuch Demands of the Parties themfelves within Six days after the Receipt of fuch Warrant, and to Levy and Pay in the fame, upon or before the Seventh day of November in the Year of our Lord One thoufand fix hundred eighty nine, or within Twenty days after at fuch Place as the Commiflioners mail appoint, unto their refpective Head Collectors, who are hereby required to call upon, and haften their Subcollectors to the faid Payment; And at or upon the Fourteenth day of November then next enfuing, or within Twenty days after, to Levy by Warrant under the Hands and Seals of any Two or more of the faid Commiffioners, by Diftrefs upon the Sub- collectors reflectively, fuch Sum and Sums of Money, as by him or them ought to have been paid, and is or are not paid by reafon of his failure in doing his Duty according to the Directions of this Act, fo'as every Head Collector may make Payment unto the Receiver General of the faid County, City, or Place the full Sums by him to be paid on the Thirteenth day of November aforelaid, or within Twenty days after: And the Receiver General is like.vife required to call upon and haften the faid Head Collectors, and to pay what he (hall fo receive from the faid Head Collectors, into their Ma- iefties Receipt of Exchequer, upon or before the Firit day of December aforefaid, or within Thirty days after, to the end that all and every the Rates and Affeffments, which by this Act are impofed upon any Perfon or Perfons, in refpect of his or their Goods and Chattels, or Offices or Employments, may be fpeedily brought into their Majefties Receipt of Exchequer, and there paid in upon or before the faid F;rft dav of December, or within Thirty days after, at one entire Payment. And the faid Subcollectors are alio required and enjoyned to Levy one Moiety of the Pound Rate charged upon all Meffuages, Lands, Tenements, Hereditaments and Premiffes, as aforelaid, within Six days after the Receipt of fuch Warrants, and to pay the fame unto their refpective Head Collectors, on or before the Seventh day of November aforefaid, or within Twenty days after; And the faid Head Collectors are to haften the faid Subcollectors; And in cafe the fame (hall not be Collected by reafon of the neglect or failure of Duty in the faid Subcollectors, the faid Head Collectors are to proceed againft them by Diftrefs in like manner, and by like Warrant as aforefaid. And every Head Collector is hereby required to make pay- ment of what 1 (h"all be fo levied or received unto the Receiver General of the faid County, City or Place, upon or before the Thirtieth day of November aforefaid, or within Twenty days after; And the Re- ceiver General is likewife required to call upon and haften the faid Head Collectors, and to pay what he (hall receive from the faid Head Collectors unto their Majefties Receipt of Exchequer, upon or be- fore the Firft day of December aforefaid, or within Thirty days after, to the end that the firft Payment of the faid Pound Rate of Twelve pence in every Twenty (hillings yearly, may by that time be fully answered and paid in to their Majefties; And the Subcollectors (hall alfo Levy the other Moiety of the faid Pound Rate, charged as aforefaid, upon or before the Seventh day of February then next enfuing, or within Twenty days after, and fnall alfo pay the fame unto the faid Head Collectors upon or before the Fourteenth day of February aforefaid, or within Twenty days after; And the faid Head Collectors (hall make payment thereof to the Receiver General of the faid County, City or Place, upon or before the Twenty eighth day of February aforefaid, or within Twenty days after : And the faid Receiver Ge- neral is alio required to make payment of all which he (hall fo receive, into their Majefties Receipt of Exchequer, upon or before the Firft day of March then next enfuing, or within Thirty days after, to ' the end that the fecond Payment of the faid Pound Rate fo charged as aforefaid, may by that time be fully anfwered and paid in to their Majefties; And all Commiflioners, Collectors and Receivers, are hereby Required and Enjoyned to apply themfelves with all Diligence to the moft fpeedy and effectual Execution of their feveral and refpective Duties, that fo their Majefties Service herein may not be de- layed or hindred through any of their wilful Neglect or Default. X. And it is further Enacted and Declared by the Authority aforefaid, That the Moneys received by the Subcolleclors within the refpective Divifions or Hundreds, (hall from time to time be duly paid to the Head Collector, whofe Receipt (hall be a fufficient Difcharge unto every fuch Subcollector; which Subcollectcr for Gathering the (aid particular Sums, (hall retain in his Hands for every Twenty (hillings by him fo paid, Three pence, as a Reward for his Pains and Service; And the Head Collector (hall accordingly pay over the faid Moneys unto the Receiver General of each County, City or Place re- ipectively, in manner aforefaid; which Head Collector or Collectors (hall be nominated and appointed by the Receivers General of the refpective Counties; which faid Receivers General (hall be anfwerable for all fuch Sums of Money as (hall be by him or them Collected or Received; And that no Subcollector fhall be enforced to travel above the (pace of Ten miles for the payment of the faid Moneys that (hall be by him Collected or Received; And the faid Receiver General's Aquittance fhall be a fufficient Dif- charge unto every fuch Head Collector, who (hall retain in h is Hands for every Twenty (hilling's fo by him paid One peny, as a Reward for his Pains and Service; And the Receiver General (hall "pay the whole Sums by him Received, into the Receipt of their Majefties Exchequer, in fuch Manner, and at or beLre fuch Days and Times as are herein before limited, and fhall have an Allowance of Two pence in the Pound for all Moneys which (hall be by him paid into the Receipt of Exchequer, upon or be- fore the time prefixed in this Act.
