To amend the South Africa Act, 1909.

Be it enacted by the Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty, the Senate and the House of Assembly of the Union of South Africa, as follows:―
Amendment of section 56 of the South Africa Act, 1909, as substituted by section 1 of Act 51 of 1926, and amended by section 4 of Act 21 of 1932, section 2 of Act 29 of 1933, section 1 of Act 43 of 1935, section 24 of Act 20 of 1940, section 1 of Act 21 of 1946 and section 2 of Act 66 of 1951.
1. (1) Section fifty-six of the South Africa Act, 1909, is hereby amended―
(a) | by the addition to sub-section (1) of the following paragraphs, the existing sub-section becoming paragraph (a):

(b) | by the insertion in sub-section (3) after the word “allowance” of the words “(including any travelling and subsistence allowance)”; | |||||||
(c) | by the insertion in sub-section (5) after the word “allowances” of the words “(other than travelling and subsistence allowances)”; and | |||||||
(d) | by the addition to sub-section (5) of the following paragraph, the existing sub-section becoming paragraph (a):
