The following lines which we here quote froin the writings of the above saints seem to have furnished the data for their respective biographies :(1) Tirumurnalisai Alvar.--குலங்களாய வீரிரண்டிலொன்
றிலும் பிறந்திலேன் ; நாக்கொண்டு மானிடம் பாடேன். (2) Tinnitangai Alvar.--சேமமேவேண்டித தீவினைபெருக்
கித் தெரிவைமாருருவமே மருவி ; கள்வனேனானேன் படிறு செய்திருப்பேன் கண்டவாதிரி தந்தேனேலும் தெள்ளியேனானேன்.
(3) Tondaradippodi Alwar.--சூதனாய்க்கள்வனாகித் தூர்த்த
ரோடிசைந்தகாலம் ; மா தரார்கயற்கணென்னும் வலையுள் பட்டழுந்துவேனை, போ தரே யென்று சொல்லிப் புந்தி யிற் புகுந்து தன்பால், ஆதாம் பெருகவைத்த வழகஷா ரங்கமன்றே ; தொடையொத்த துளவமும் கூடையும் பொலிந்து தோன்றியதோள் தொண்டரடிப்பொடி.
(4) Periyalvair-வே தப்பயன் கொள்ள வல்லவிட்டுசித்தன் ;
அணிகோட்டியர் கோனபிமான துங்கன்.
