Back to Beauty.

"There is not much beauty in straight lines. There is infinite charm in curves."

IN our April number we sounded the death knell of the "Stove-Pipe" line and passed along the message that we had definite news of a return to the natural and beautiful curve. Already this is in evidence, and a careful reading of our new feature, "The Trend of Fashion," which we introduce this month, should prove this beyond doubt.

This is the day of Spirella! We have always had a very great claim on the public because of the health and comfort which Spirella Figure Training and Supporting Garments afford.

Now Fashion is our ally once more, and those women, whose first concern is the fashionable line, will be needing the skilled service of the Spirella Corsetiere more than ever.

Our Cartoonist this month is in somewhat reminiscent mood, and has pictured for us in his own graphic way, Fashion's Trend over a couple of centuries. During that time the "female form divine" has gone through many startling changes. Woman has suffered much to meet the demands of fashion in the past; and although we moderns have been apt to ridicule the bustle and crinoline ages, we have not been altogether faultless ourselves.

Only a few years ago certain fashion extremists entered upon dietetic rigours amounting almost to starvation, in order to achieve a slim and boyish outline, while others foolishly sheathed themselves in unhygienic rubber under the delusion that a mysterious process of massage would accomplish the slim effect so much desired.

Fortunately for themselves. and for all who are concerned in the care of women's figures, common sense has prevailed, and the gradual tendency towards rationalism and freedom in dress, has brought us back, as we knew it would, to the more natural line.

This return to the curve is a response to the call of nature and of beauty. There is nothing exaggerated or attenuated about it. It is just the natural beauty line that is so graceful and pleasing to behold.

All Spirella Figure Training and Supporting Garments are built on strictly anatomical lines, and Spirella, best of all, can therefore cater for the newer mode, which is depicted by the trim, neat and graceful figure of Miss 1928.
