With the addition of a third chain similar to the first two and making equal angles with them, Fig. 147 would represent the driving mechanism of Brotherhood's "three- cylinder" engine, and the same trehle chain has also been used in much larger machines, as in the three-cylinder engine of H.M, Gunboat " "Waterwitch."
