TfcHe Kings Majeflie, with advice and confent of His Eftates of Parliament, Doth Ratifie and Renew the twentieth Aft of the tenth Parliament of King James the fixth, of blefled memory, and according- ly Statutes and Ordains, that no Signaturs, Writs, Letters or Warrands fhall be presented to be figned by His Majeftie, but by His ordinary Officers, to whofe charge the fame properly belongs. And that His Majeftie may die better know what pafleth under His Hand, and upon what grounds He figns the fame* It is appointed, That any of His Majefties Officers, who fhall prefent any Signature, Writ, Letter or War- rand to be figned by His Majeftie, fhall caufe Regiftrate the Docquet of the fame in a Regifter , and then fend the juft double thereof under their hands to His Majefties Secretary, who is to give His Majefty timous notice of any prior Deed, differing or contrary to the fame, that His Majeftie may give His further Orders concerning die fame. Comm'iffton for 'Plantation of Kirks, and Valuation of 'Teinds > OUr Soveraign Lord, confidering the great care His Royal Father and Grand-father, of ever blefled memory, had, at all times, of the Reformed Religion, within this Kingdome, and of the Mainte- nance and Provifion of the Miniftry and Churches thereof; Concerning which, and for the publick good of the Nation, His Majefties Royal Father did emit a declaration, immediatly after His fucceffion to the Crown, and concerning diverfe other particulars relating to Teinds and Superiorities of Kirk-lands : in order whereunto, diverfe Afts and Ordinances of Parliament and of Commiflions, were from time to time made, during the Reign of His ever Glorious Father ; And yet, by the unhappy Troubles of the time, His Royal purpofe hath not got a final acomplifhment, fo that diverfe Churches are as yet unprovided with fufficient "Maintenance, many Teinds unvalued, and diverfe other particulars are as yet unperfefted; And His Ma- "jeftie being defirous to profecute this good Work, for the univerfal good of the People, and namely tor the ' incouragement of the Minilters of the Gofpel, His Majefty , with advice and confent of the Eftates of Parli- ament, Doth Ratifie and Approve the nineteenth Aft of the Parliament holden at Edinburgh by His Royal Father, in Anno one thoufand, fix hundred, and thirty three, Intituled, Qmmisjicn for Valuation 0} Teinds t§c. in the whole Heads , Claufes and Contents thereof, except in fo far as there hath been any derogation made thereto, by Afts and Commiflions made and granted by His Majeftie, fince the date of the faid Aft, or granted by pretended Parliaments fince and which are Ratified or Salved, or to be Referved by this prefent Parliament.
