Having with five loaves fed five thousand 16. (walking also the night after upon the sea) 22. on the morow the people thereupon resorting unto him, 27. he preacheth unto them of the Bread which he wil give: telling them that he is come from Heaven, and therfore able to give such bread as can quicken the world, even his owne flesh: and that al his Elect shal beleeve as much. 60. Many notwithstanding doe murmur at this doctrine yea and become apostataes, though he tel them that they shal see by his Ascension into Heaven, that he is descended from Heaven. But the Twelve sticke unto him, Peter in al their names confessing that he is God Omnipotent. 70. Among which twelve (yet that no man be scandalized) he signifieth that he foreknoweth which wil become a traitour: as among the foresaid, which would become apostataes.

The Ghospel upon Midlent Sunday.Mt. 14, 13. Mr. 6, 32. Luc. 9, 10.AFTER these things Jesus went beyond the sea of Galilee, which is of Tiberias. 2and a great multitude followed him, because they saw the signes which he did upon those that were sicke. 3Jesus therfore went up into the mountaine, and there he sate with his Disciples. 4And the Pasche was at hand, the festival day of the Jewes. 5When Jesus therfore had lifted up his eyes, and saw that a very great multitude commeth to him, he saith to Philippe: Whence shal we buy bread: that these may eate? 6And this he said, tempting him. For himself knew what he would doe. 7Philippe answered him: Two hundred penie worth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every man may take a litle peece. 8One of his Disciples, Andrew the brother of Simon Peter, saith to him: 9There is a boy here that hath five barley loaves, and two fishes; but what are these among so many? 10Jesus therfore saith: Make the men to sit downe. And there was much grasse in the place. The men therfore sate downe, in number about five thousand. 11Jesus therfore took the loaves; and when he had given thankes, he distributed to them that sate. In like manner also of the fishes as much as they would. 12And after they were filled, he said to his Disciples: Gather the fragments that are remaining, lest they be lost. 13They gathered therfore, and filled twelve baskets with fragments of the five barley loaves, which remained to them that had eaten. 14Those men therfore when they had seen what a signe Jesus had done, said: That this is the Prophet indeed that is to come into the world. 15Jesus therfore when he knew that they would come to take him, and make him king, Mt. 14, 23. Mr. 6, 46.* he fled againe into the mountaine him self alone.✠

16And when even was come, his Disciples went downe to the sea. 17And when they were gone up into the ship, they came beyond the sea into Capharnaum. And now it was darke and Jesus was not come unto them 18And the sea arose, by reason of a great wind that blew. 19When they had rowed therfore about five and twentie or thirtie
