Resolved by the Senate and Ibnse of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Postmaster-Gene- Plank roads ral shallbc, and heis hereby authorized in his discretion, to contract for ggsltlggbege carrying the mail on all the plank roads which have been or shall be GB,,,,,,,, shall constructed in the United States, and in all cases when in his opinion cause the_ mail the public interest and convenience require it; and that for the time L; “° during which mails may be carried on such plank roads, or any part thereof, the same shall be and they are hereby declared to be post-roads of the United States. Sec. 2. And be it farther resolved, That the road from Vallona Springs N P<;§l>-1;¤¤l¤ i¤ in Broome County, New York, by the way of Nineveh, and Coventry, cw or ` to Oxford, be, and the same is hereby declared a post-road. And the Postmaster·General is authorized to pay a reasonable compensation for carrying the mail on said route by discretion of the Department, previous to this time.
