Whereas America's youth are our Nation's most precious resource; Whereas young people are contributing to drug abuse prevention by starting "Just Say No" clubs and saying "no" to drugs; Whereas America's youth should be recognized and encouraged for , their efforts in the fight against drug abuse: Now, therefore, be it Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That in recognition of this Nation's young people to publicly fight drug abuse by just saying "no" to drugs and thereby contributing to the end of drug abuse in America, the President is directed to issue a proclamation designating the week of May 10, 1987, through May 16, 1987, as "Just Say No to Drugs Week", and calling on the people of the United States to observe this week with appropriate programs, ceremonies, and activities. Approved May 12, 1987.
