SEC. 412. END STRENGTHS FOR RESERVES ON ACTIVE DUTY IN SUPPORT OF THE RESERVES
Within the strengths prescribed in section 411, the reserve components of the Armed Forces are authorized, as of September 30, 1988, and as of September 30, 1989, the following number of Reserves to be serving on full-time active duty or, in the case of members of the National Guard, full-time National Guard duty for the purpose of lorganizing, administering, recruiting, instructing, or training the reserve components: (1) The Army National Guard of the United States, 25,725. (2) The Army Reserve, 13,329. (3) The Naval Reserve, 21,991. '^*k (4) The Marine Corps Reserve, 1,945. (5) The Air National Guard of the United States, 7,836. (6) The Air Force Reserve, 669. SEC. 413. INCREASE IN NUMBER OF MEMBERS IN CERTAIN GRADES AUTHORIZED TO BE ON ACTIVE DUTY IN SUPPORT OF THE RESERVES (a) SENIOR ENUSTED MEMBERS.—(1) The table in section 517(b) of
title 10, United States Code, is amended to read as follows: "Grade E-9 E-8

(2) Effective on October 1, 1988, that table is amended to read as follows: "Grade E-9 E-8
