103 STAT. 696 PUBLIC LAW 101-116—OCT. 13, 1989 Public Law 101-116 101st Congress Joint Resolution Oct. 13, 1989 To designate the week of October 1 through 7, 1989, as "National Health Care Food [S.J. Res. 81] Service Week". Whereas health care food service is a vital function of the provision of care and treatment of hospitalized persons; Whereas health care food service workers, chefs, dietitians, dietary assistants, and administrators work in concert with other health care professionals to provide the best possible patient care; and Whereas the provision of nutrition and sustenance is an essential component of the care and recovery of hospitalized persons: Now, therefore, be it Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the week of October 1 through 7, 1989, is designated as "National Health Care Food Service Week", and the President is authorized and requested to issue a proclamation calling on the people of the United States to observe that week with appropriate ceremonies and activities.
