DEFENSE PRODUCHON ACT PURCHASES (INCLUDING TRANSFER OF FUNDS) For purchases or commitments to purchase metals, minerals, or other materials by the Department of Defense pursuant to section 303 of the Defense Production Act of 1950, as amended (50 U.S.C. App. 2093); $50,000,000, to remain available until expended: Pro- vided, That none of these funds shall be obligated for any metal, mineral, or material, unless funds have been obligated since October 1, 1984, for purchases for qualification of that metal, min- eral, or material: Provided further. That the Secretary of Defense shall transfer the $6,000,000 appropriated under the heading "De- fense Production Act Purchases" (102 Stat. 2270-12, Public Law 100-463) for a demonstration project to develop a reliable source of titemium ore from ilemenite to appropriations available to the Secretary of the Interior, in order for the United States Bureau of Mines to carry out such demonstration project, known as the Soledad Canyon Demonstration Project in Los Angeles County, California. These funds shall remain available until September 30, 1993.
