Res. 591] Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled. That the third Sunday of August of 1990 is designated as "National Senior Citizens Day", and the President is authorized and requested to issue a proclamation calling upon the people of the United States to observe the day with appropriate ceremonies and activities in honor of the contributions to the United States of individuals more than 55 years of age.
