(a) EXCLUSION FROM INCOME.—Section 1612(b) (42 U.S.C. 1382a(b)) is amended— (1) by striking "and" at the end of paragraph (15); (2) by striking the period at the end of paragraph (16) and inserting "; and"; and (3) by adding at the end the following: "(17) any amount received by such individual (or such spouse) from a fund established by a State to aid victims of crime.". (b) EXCLUSION FROM RESOURCES. — Section 1613(a) (42 U.S.C. 1382b(a)) is amended— (1) by striking "and" at the end of paragraph (7); (2) by striking the period at the end of paragraph (8) and inserting "; and"; and (3) by adding at the end the following: "(9) for the 9-month period beginning after the month in which received, any amount received by such individual (or such spouse) from a fund established by a State to aid victims of crime, to the extent that such individual (or such spouse) demonstrates that such amount was paid as compensation for expenses incurred or losses suffered as a result of a crime.". (c) VICTIMS COMPENSATION AWARD NOT REQUIRED TO BE ACCEPTED AS CONDITION OF RECEIVING BENEFITS.— Section 1631(a) (42 U.S.C. 1383(a)) is amended by adding at the end the following: "(9) Benefits under this title shall not be denied to any individual solely by reason of the refusal of the individual to accept an amount offered as compensation for a crime of which the individual was a victim,". (d) EFFECTIVE DATE.—The amendments made by this section shall apply with respect to benefits for months beginning on or after the first day of the 6th calendar month following the month in which this Act is enacted. 42 USC 1382a note. 42 USC 1382h. 42 USC 1382h note. 42 USC 1382a note. SEC. 5032. ATTAINMENT OF AGE 65 NOT TO SERVE AS BASIS FOR TERMI- NATION OF ELIGIBILITY UNDER SECTION 1619(b). (a) IN GENERAL.— Section 1619(b)(l) (42 U.S.C. 1392h(b)(l)) is amended by striking "under age 65". (b) EFFECTIVE DATE. —The amendment made by subsection (a) shall apply with respect to benefits for months beginning on or after the first day of the 6th calendar month following the month in which this Act is enacted. SEC. 5033. EXCLUSION FROM INCOME OF IMPAIRMENT-RELATED WORK EXPENSES. (a) IN GENERAL.— Section 1612(b)(4)(B)(ii) (42 U.S.C. 1382a(b)(4)(B)(ii)) is amended by striking "(for purposes of determining the amount of his or her benefits under this title and of determining his or her eligibility for such benefits for consecutive months of eligibility after the initial month of such eligibility)". (b) EFFECTIVE DATE.—The amendment made by subsection (a) shall apply to benefits payable for calendar months beginning after the date of the enactment of this Act.
