PUBLIC LAW 102-190-DEC. 5, 1991 105 STAT. 1379 SEC. 623. TRAVEL AND TRANSPORTATION ALLOWANCES FOR CERTAIN EMERGENCY DUTY WITHIN LIMITS OF DUTY STATION. Section 408 of title 37, United States Code, is amended— (1) by inserting "(a)" before "A member of a uniformed service"; and (2) by adding at the end the following new subsection: "(b)(1) Under regulations prescribed by the Secretary concerned, a Regulations. member of a uniformed service who performs emergency duty described in paragraph (2) is entitled to travel and transportation allowances under section 404 of this title for that duty. "(2) The emergency duty referred to in paragraph (1) is duty that— "(A) is performed by a member under emergency circumstances that threaten injury to property of the Federal Government or human life; "(B) is performed at a location within the limits of the member's station (other than at the residence or normal duty location of the member); "(C) is performed pursuant to the direction of competent authority; and "(D) requires the member's use of overnight accommodations.". SEC. 624. AUTHORITY OF MEMBERS TO DEFER AUTHORIZED TRAVEL IN CONNECTION WITH CONSECUTIVE OVERSEAS TOURS. Section 411b(a)(2) of title 37, United States Code, is amended to read as follows: "(2) Under the regulations referred to in paragraph (1), a member may defer the travel for which the member is paid travel and transportation allowances under such paragraph until not more than one year after the date on which the member begins the consecutive tour of duty at the same duty station or reports to another duty station under the order involved, as the case may be.". SEC. 625. INCREASE IN FAMILY SEPARATION ALLOWANCE. (a) INCREASE IN ALLOWANCE.— Subsection (b)(1) of section 427 of title 37, United States Code (as amended by section 611(b)), is further amended by striking out "$60" and inserting in lieu thereof "$75". (b) CLERICAL AMENDMENTS.— Such section is further amended— (1) in subsection (a), by inserting "ALLOWANCE EQUAL TO BASIC ALLOWANCE FOR QUARTERS.— " after "(a)"; and (2) in subsection (b), by inserting "ADDITIONAL SEPARATION ALLOWANCE.— " after "(b)". SEC. 626. TRANSPORTATION OF THE REMAINS OF CERTAIN DECEASED DEPENDENTS OF RETIRED MEMBERS OF THE ARMED FORCES. (a) TRANSPORTATION OF REMAINS. —Section 1490 of title 10, United States Code, is amended— (1) in subsection (a), by inserting ", or a dependent of such a member," after "equivalent pay"; and (2) by striking out subsection (c) and inserting in lieu thereof the following: "(c) In this section: "(1) The term 'United States'includes the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and the territories and possessions of the United States.
