Secretary of Defense for Acquisition or the Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition in any provision of law other than title 10, United States Code, or in any rule, regulation, or other paper of the United States shall be treated as referring to the Under Secretai^ of Defense for Acquisition and Technology or the Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Technology, respectively. SEC. 905. ASSISTANT SECRETARY OF DEFENSE FOR LEGISLATIVE AFFAIRS. Section 138(b) of title 10, United States Code, as redesignated by section 901(a)(l), is amended by adding at the end the following newparagraph: (5) One of the Assistant Secretaries shall be the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Legislative Affairs. He shall have as his principal duty the overall supervision of legislative affairs of the Department of Defense.". SEC. 806. FURTHER CONFORMING AMENDMENTS TO CHAPTER 4 OF TITLE 10, UNITED STATES CODE. (a) COMPOSITION OF OSD.— Subsection (b) of section 131 of title 10, United States Code, is amended to read as follows: "(b) The Office of the Secretary of Defense is composed of the following: "(1) The Deputy Secretary of Defense. "(2) The Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Technology.
- (3) The Under Secretary of Defense for Policy.
"(4) The Comptroller.
- (5) The Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and
Readiness. "(6) The Director of Defense Research and Engineering. "(7) The Assistant Secretaries of Defense.
- (8) The Director of Operational Test and Evaluation.
"(9) The General Counsel of the Department of Defense. (10) The Inspector General of the Department of Defense. "(11) Such other offices and officials as may be established by law or the Secretary of Defense may establish or designate in the Office.".
