There is hereby authorized to be appropriated to the Department of Defense for military personnel for fiscal year 1999 a total of $70,592,286,000. The authorization in the preceding sentence supersedes any other authorization of appropriations (definite or indefinite) for such purpose for fiscal year 1999. Commendation and commemoration of the Navy and Marine Corps personnel who served in the United States Navy Asiatic Fleet from 1910-1942. Sec. 534. Appreciation for service during World War I and World War II by members of the Navy assigned on board merchant ships as the Naval Armed Guai"d Service. Sec. 535. Sense of Congress regarding the heroism, sacrifice, and service of the military forces of Soum Vietnam, other nations, and indigenous groups in connection with the United States Armed Forces during the Vietnam conflict.
