112 STAT. 2681-297 PUBLIC LAW 105-277 —OCT. 21, 1998 by section 202 of Public Law 90-544 (16 U.S.C. 90a-l), is hereby adjusted to exclude a parcel of land and waters consisting of approximately 88 acres, as depicted on the map entitled "Proposed Management Units, North Cascades, Washington", numbered NP-CAS-7002A, originally dated October 1967, and revised July 13, 1994. (2) WENATCHEE NATIONAL FOREST. —The boundary of the Wenatchee National Forest is hereby adjusted to include the parcel of land and waters described in paragraph (1). (3) AVAILABILITY OF MAP. — The map referred to in paragraph (1) shall be on file and available for public inspection in the offices of the superintendent of the Lake Chelan National Recreation Area and the Director of the National Faik Service, Department of the Interior, and in the office of the Chief of the Forest Service, Department of Agriculture. (b) TRANSFER OF ADMINISTRATIVE JURISDICTION. — Administrative jurisdiction over Federal land and waters in the parcel covered by the boundary adjustments in subsection (a) is transferred from the Secretary of the Interior to the Secretary of Agriculture, and the transferred land and waters shall be managed by the Secretary of Agriculture in accordance with the laws and regulations pertaining to the National Forest System. (c) LAND AND WATER CONSERVATION FUND.— For purposes of section 7 of the Land and Water Conservation Fund Act of 1965 (16 U.S.C. 4601-9), the boundaries of the Wenatchee National Forest, as adjusted by subsection (a), shall be considered to be the boundaries of the Wenatchee National Forest as of January 1, 1965. 16 USC 1642 SEC. 343. HARDWOOD TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER AND APPLIED note- RESEARCH, (a) The Secretary of Agriculture (hereinafter the "Secretary") is hereby authorized to conduct technol(^;y transfer and development, training, dissemination of information and applied research in the management, processing and utilization of the hardwood forest resource. This authority is in addition to any other authorities which may be available to the Secretary including, but not limited to, the Cooperative Forestry Assistance Act of 1978, as amended (16 U.S.C. 2101 et. seq.), and the Forest and Rangeland Renewable Resources Act of 1978, as amended (16 U.S.C. 1600- 1614). (b) In carrying out this authority, the Secretsuy may enter into grants, contracts, and cooperative agreements with public and private agencies, organizations, corporations, institutions and individuals. The Secretary may accept gifts and donations pursuant to the Act of October 10, 1978 (7 U.S.C. 2269) including gifts and donations from a donor that conducts business with any s^ency of the Department of ^riculture or is regulated by the Secretary of Agriculture. (c) The Secretary is authorized, on such terms and conditions as the Secretary may prescribe, to assume all rights, title, and interest, including all outstanding assets, of the Robert C. Byrd Hardwood Technology Center, Inc. (hereinafter the "Center"), a non-profit corporation existing under the laws of the State of West Virginia: Provided, That the Board of Directors of the Center requests such an action and dissolves the corporation consistent with the Articles of Incorporation and the laws of the State of West Virginia.
