PUBLIC LAW 106-398—APPENDIX 114 STAT. 1654A-389 (g) ADDITIONAL ASSISTANCE FOR CERTAIN LOCAL EDUCATIONAL AGENCIES IMPACTED BY FEDERAL PROPERTY ACQUISITION.— Section 8014(g) of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (20 U.S.C. 7714(g)) is amended— (1) in the heading, by striking "FEDERAL PROPERTY LOCAL EDUCATIONAL AGENCIES" and inserting "LOCAL EDUCATIONAL AGENCIES IMPACTED BY FEDERAL PROPERTY ACQUISITION"; and (2) by striking "such sums as are necessary beginning in fiscal year 1998 and for each succeeding fiscal year" and inserting "$1,500,000 for fiscal year 2000 and such sums as may be necessary for each of the three succeeding fiscal years". SEC. 1818. EFFECTIVE DATE. This title, and the amendments made by this title, shall take effect on October 1, 2000, or the date of the enactment of this Act, whichever occurs later.
