SEC. 3306. RESTRICTION ON DISPOSAL OF MANGANESE FERRO. (a) TEMPORARY QUANTITY RESTRICTIONS.— During fiscal years 2002 through 2005, the disposal of manganese ferro in the National Defense Stockpile may not exceed the following quantities: (1) During fiscal year 2002, 25,000 short tons of all grades of manganese ferro. (2) During fiscal year 2003, 25,000 short tons of high carbon manganese ferro of the highest grade. (3) During each of the fiscal years 2004 and 2005, 50,000 short tons of high carbon manganese ferro of the highest grade. (b) CONFORMING AMENDMENT.— Section 3304 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 1996 (Public Law 104— 106; 110 Stat. 629) is repealed. TITLE XXXIV—NAVAL PETROLEUM RESERVES Sec. 3401. Authorization of appropriations. SEC. 3401. AUTHORIZATION OF APPROPRIATIONS. (a) AMOUNT. —There are hereby authorized to be appropriated to the Secretary of Energy $17,371,000 for fiscal year 2002 for the purpose of carrying out activities under chapter 641 of title 10, United States Code, relating to the naval petroleum reserves. (b) PERIOD OF AVAILABILITY. —Funds appropriated pursuant to the authorization of appropriations in subsection (a) shall remain available until expended.
