And whereas, the said treaty having been submitted to the Senate of Ratification, the United States for its constitutional action thereon, the said Senate did, March 8»185°· on the eighth day of March, one thousand eight hundred and fifty-nine, advise and consent to the ratification of the same by a resolution in the words and ngures following, to wit: “ IN Exnoorrvn SESSION, " SENATE or THE UNITED STATES, March 8, 1859. " Resolved, (two thirds of the senators present concurring,) That the Senate advise and consent to the ratification of treaty between the United States and the head chief, chiefs, headmen, and delegates of the Yakama, Palouse, and other confederated tribes and bands of Indians, occupying lands lying in Washington Territory, who, for the purposes of this treaty, are to be considered as one nation, under the name of "Yakama," with Kamaiakun as its head chief, signed 9th June, 1855.
