And whereas, the said treaty having been submitted to the Senate for cqmugg its constitutional action thereon, the Senate did, on the eighth day of S¤¤¤¤>» Mmh 9» March, one thousand eight hundred and fifty-nine, advise and consent to B"' the ratification of its articles, by a resolution, in the words and figures following, to wit : — "IN Exncrrrrvn Session, " Smurrn or mn Umrnn Sums, March 8, 1859. “ Resolved, (two thirds of the senators present concurring,) That the Senate advise and consent to the ratification of treaty made and concluded at the city of Washington, the 12th day of March, 1858, between the United States and the Ponca tribe of Indians. “Attest: "ASBURY DICKINS, Secretary."
