Section 1407(b)(1) of the Defense Dependents’ E ducation Act of 197 8 (20 U.S.C. 926(b)(1)) is amended by inserting after the first sentence the following new sentence: ‘‘Schools to which tuition may be paid under this subsection may include private boarding schools in the United States.’’. Subti t leH—M ilit aryF a m ilie s SEC. 5 81 . DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE MILITARY FAMILY READINESS COUNCIL AND POLICY AND PLANS FOR MILITARY FAMILY READINESS. (a) INGE NE RAL .—Subchapter I of chapter 88 of title 10, United States Code, is amended by inserting after section 1781 the fol - lowing new sections: ‘ ‘ §178 1 a.Dep a rtm e n t of Defen s e Mil itar yF amily R ea d iness C o u n c il ‘‘(a) IN GENERAL.— T here is in the Department of Defense the Department of Defense M ilitary Family R eadiness Council (in this section referred to as the ‘Council’). ‘‘(b) ME MB ER S .—(1) The Council shall consist of the following members: ‘‘(A) The Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness, who shall serve as chair of the Council. ‘‘(B) O ne representative of each of the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, and Air Force, who shall be appointed by the Secretary of Defense. ‘‘(C) Three individuals appointed by the Secretary of Defense from among representatives of military family organizations, including military family organizations of fami- lies of members of the regular components and of families of members of the reserve components. ‘‘(D) In addition to the representatives appointed under subparagraph (B), the senior enlisted advisors of the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, and Air Force, or the spouse of a senior Establi s hmen t .
