SEC.923 . R E P E ALOF CER T A INQU ALIFICATIONS REQUIRE M ENT FOR D IRECTOR OF C H EMICAL DEMILITARI Z ATION MANA G E - MENT ORGANIZATION. Section 1 4 12(e)(3) of the Department of Defense Authori z ation Act, 19 86 ( 5 0 U.S.C. 1521(e)(3)) is amended— (1) in subparagraph (A), by adding ‘ ‘and ’ ’ at the end; (2) by striking subparagraph (B); and (3) by redesignating subparagraph (C) as subparagraph (B). SEC. 92 4 . MODIFICATION OF TERMINATION OF ASSISTANCE TO STATE AND LOCAL GO V ERNMENTS AFTER COMPLETION OF THE DESTRUCTION OF THE UNITED STATES CHEMICAL W EAPONS STOC K PILE. Subparagraph (B) of section 1412(c)(5) of the Department of Defense Authorization Act, 1986 (50 U.S.C. 1521(c)(5)) is amended to read as follows
‘‘(B) Assistance may be provided under this paragraph for capabilities to respond to emergencies involving an installation or facility as described in subparagraph (A) until the earlier of the following: ‘‘(i) The date of the completion of all grants and cooperative agreements with respect to the installation or facility for pur- poses of this paragraph between the F ederal E mergency Management Agency and the State and local governments con- cerned. ‘‘(ii) The date that is 180 days after the date of the comple- tion of the destruction of lethal chemical agents and munitions at the installation or facility.’’.
