C . 108 7 vv(j)(1)) is amended— (1) by striking ‘‘veterans’ education benefits as defined in subsection (c) , and’’; and (2) by inserting before the period at the end the following: ‘‘, but e x cluding veterans’ education benefits as defined in sub- section (c)’’. (f) EF FECTI V E D ATE.— T he amendments made by this section shall take effect on J uly 1, 2010. PARTG— G EN ERA L PR OVIS IONS RELATING TO ST UD ENT ASSISTAN C E SEC.481 . D E FIN I T I O NS. Section 481 (20 U.S.C. 1088) is amended— (1) in subsection (a)(2)( B ), by inserting ‘‘and that measures program length in credit hours or clock hours’’ after ‘‘bacca- laureate degree’’; and (2) by adding at the end the following: ‘‘(e) C O NS UM ER R E P ORTIN G AGENC Y .—For purposes of this title, the term ‘consumer reporting agency’ has the meaning given the term ‘consumer reporting agency that compiles and maintains files on consumers on a nationwide basis’ in Section 6 0 3 (p) of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (1 5 U.S.C. 1681a(p)). ‘‘(f) DEFINITION OF E D UCATIONAL SERVICE AGENCY.—For pur- poses of parts B, D, and E, the term ‘educational service agency’ has the meaning given the term in section 9 101 of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965.’’. SEC. 48 2 . MA STE R CA L ENDAR. (a) AMENDMENT.—Section 482 (20 U.S.C. 1089) is amended— (1) in subsection (a)(1), by striking subparagraphs (B) and (C) and inserting the following: ‘‘(B) by M arch 1: proposed modifications, updates, and notices pursuant to sections 478 and 483(a)(5) published in the Federal Register; ‘‘(C) by June 1: final modifications, updates, and notices pursuant to sections 478 and 483(a)(5) published in the Federal Register;’’; and (2) by adding at the end the following: ‘‘(e) COMPLIANCE CALENDAR.— P rior to the beginning of each award year, the Secretary shall provide to institutions of higher education a list of all the reports and disclosures re q uired under this Act. The list shall include— ‘‘(1) the date each report or disclosure is required to be completed and to be submitted, made available, or dissemi- nated; ‘‘(2) the required recipients of each report or disclosure; ‘‘(3) any required method for transmittal or dissemination of each report or disclosure; ‘‘(4) a description of the content of each report or disclosure sufficient to allow the institution to identify the appropriate Deadlin e .R e cor d s .
