(b) CONF O RMI N GA M E N D MEN TS . — ( 1 ) P aragraph (1) of section 54 A(d), as amended by this Act, is amended by stri k ing ‘‘or’’ at the end of subparagraph ( B ), by inserting ‘‘or’’ at the end of subparagraph (C), and by inserting after subparagraph (C) the follo w ing new subpara - graph
‘‘(D) a q ualified z one academy bond,’’. ( 2 ) S ubparagraph (C) of section 54A(d)(2), as amended by this Act, is amended by striking ‘‘and’’ at the end of clause (ii), by striking the period at the end of clause (iii) and inserting ‘‘, and’’, and by adding at the end the following new clause: ‘‘(iv) in the case of a qualified zone academy bond, a purpose specified in section 54E(a)(1).’’. ( 3 ) Section 13 97 E is amended by adding at the end the following new subsection: ‘‘(m) T ERMIN A TION.—This section shall not apply to any obliga- tion issued after the date of the enactment of the Ta x Extenders and Alternative M inimum Tax R elief Act of 2 0 0 8 .’’. (4) The table of sections for subpart I of part I V of sub- chapter A of chapter 1 is amended by adding at the end the following new item: ‘ ‘ Sec.54E . Qualif ie dzon e acade myb ond s . ’ ’. (c) EFFE C TI V E DATE.—The amendments made by this section shall apply to obligations issued after the date of the enactment of this Act. SEC.314 . IND I A NE MPLOY MEN T C R EDIT. (a) IN G ENERA L .—Subsection (f) of section 45A (relating to termination) is amended by striking ‘‘December 31, 2007’’ and inserting ‘‘December 31, 2009’’. (b) EFFECTIVE DATE.—The amendment made by this section shall apply to taxable years beginning after December 31, 2007. SEC. 31 5 . ACCELERATED DEPRECIATION F OR BU SINESS PROPERTY ON INDIAN RESER V ATIONS. (a) IN GENERAL.—Paragraph (8) of section 1 6 8( j ) (relating to termination) is amended by striking ‘‘December 31, 2007’’ and inserting ‘‘December 31, 2009’’. (b) EFFECTIVE DATE.—The amendment made by this section shall apply to property placed in service after December 31, 2007. SEC. 31 6 . RAILROAD TRAC K MAINTENANCE. (a) IN GENERAL.—Subsection (f) of section 45G (relating to application of section) is amended by striking ‘‘ J anuary 1, 2008’’ and inserting ‘‘January 1, 2010’’. (b) CREDIT ALLO W ED AGAINST ALTERNATIVE MINIM U MTA X .— Subparagraph (B) of section 38(c)(4), as amended by this Act, is amended— (1) by redesignating clauses (v), (vi), and (vii) as clauses (vi), (vii), and (viii), respectively, and (2) by inserting after clause (iv) the following new clause: ‘‘(v) the credit determined under section 45G,’’.
