(2) C ONTE NT S . — In cond u cting the stud y under p aragraph ( 1 ) , the Secretary shall e v aluate— (A) the national significance of the sites and resources
and ( B ) the suita b ility and feasibility of designating the sites and resources as a unit of the N ational P ar k System. ( 3 )C RI TERI A .— T he criteria for the study of areas for poten - tial inclusion in the National Park System contained in section 8 of Public L aw 9 1 – 383 (1 6 U.S.C. 1a– 5 ) shall apply to the study under paragraph (1). ( 4 ) R E P ORT.—Not later than 3 years after the date on which funds are first made available for the study under para- graph (1), the Secretary shall submit to the Committee on Natural Resources of the House of Representatives and the Committee on E nergy and Natural Resources of the Senate a report containing— (A) the results of the study; and (B) any findings, conclusions, and recommendations of the Secretary. (b) A U T H ORI Z ATION O F APPROPRIATIONS.—There are authori z ed to be appropriated such sums as are necessary to carry out this section. SEC.7204 . HAR R I E TB EECHER ST OW EHO U SE ,M AI N E. (a) STU DY .— (1) IN G ENERA L .—Not later than 3 years after the date on which funds are made available to carry out this section, the Secretary of the Interior (referred to in this section as the ‘ ‘Secretary’’) shall complete a special resource study of the Harriet Beecher Stowe House in Brunswick, M aine, to evaluate— (A) the national significance of the Harriet Beecher Stowe House and surrounding land; and (B) the suitability and feasibility of designating the Harriet Beecher Stowe House and surrounding land as a unit of the National Park System. (2) STUDY GUIDELINES.—In conducting the study authorized under paragraph (1), the Secretary shall use the criteria for the study of areas for potential inclusion in the National Park System contained in section 8(c) of Public Law 91–383 (16 U.S.C. 1a–5(c)). (b) REPORT.— O n completion of the study re q uired under sub- section (a), the Secretary shall submit to the Committee on Energy and Natural Resources of the Senate and the Committee on Natural Resources of the House of Representatives a report containing the findings, conclusions, and recommendations of the study. (c) AUTHORIZATION OF APPROPRIATIONS.—There are authorized to be appropriated such sums as are necessary to carry out this section. SEC. 720 5 . SHE P HER D STOWN BATT L E F IELD, WEST V IR G INIA.
