N othing in this section shall be construed to supersede any provision of any F ederal, State, or local law that provides greater protection than this subsection for victims of domestic violence, dating violence, se x ual assault, or stalking. ’ ’. SEC. 1 10 5 .A U T H ORI Z ATION OF APPROPRIATIONS. Subtitle A of the Mc K inney- V ento Homeless Assistance Act (42U .S. C . 1 1 36 1 et seq. ) , as amended by the preceding provisions of this title, is further amended by adding at the end the following new section
‘‘SEC. 40 8 . AUTHORIZATION OF APPROPRIATIONS. ‘‘There are authori z ed to be appropriated to carry out this title $ 2,2 0 0,000,000 for fiscal year 2010 and such sums as may be necessary for fiscal year 2011.’’. TI T LE II — E M E RG E NCYSO L U TIONS GR A NTS P ROGRAM SEC. 1 2 01. GRANT ASSISTANCE. Subtitle B of title IV of the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assist- ance Act (42 U.S.C. 113 7 1 et seq.) is amended — (1) by striking the subtitle heading and inserting the fol- lowing: ‘ ‘S ubti t leB —E m e rg e ncy S o lution s Gr a nts Program ’ ’
(2) by striking section 417 (42 U.S.C. 11377)
(3) by redesignating sections 413 through 416 (42 U.S.C. 11373 – 6) as sections 414 through 417, respectively; and (4) by striking section 412 (42 U.S.C. 11372) and inserting the following: ‘‘SEC. 412. GRANT ASSISTANCE. ‘‘The Secretary shall make grants to States and local govern- ments (and to private nonprofit organizations providing assistance to persons experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness, in the case of grants made with reallocated amounts) for the purpose of carrying out activities described in section 41 5 . ‘‘SEC. 41 3 . AMOUNT AND ALLOCATION OF ASSISTANCE. ‘‘(a) I NGE NE RAL .— O f the amount made available to carry out this subtitle and subtitle C for a fiscal year, the Secretary shall 42USC1 1 37 2 a. 42 USC 113 6 4. 42 USC 11363.
