( 2 ) TRICA R E C OV ERA G E F OR FORE NS IC M E D ICA L E X AMINA -T IONS FOLLO W ING SEX U AL ASSAULTS. —N ot later than 30 days after the date of the enactment of this Act , the S ecretary of D efense shall submit to the Committees on Armed Services of the Senate and the H ouse of Representatives a report describing the progress made in implementing section 1 0 79 (a)(17) of title 10, U nited States Code, as added by section 701 of the J ohn W arner National Defense Authorization Act for F iscal Y ear 2007 ( P ublic L a w 109 – 3 64; 120 Stat. 2279). (c) M ILITAR Y PROTECTIVE O RDERS.— (1) RE Q UIREMENT FOR DATA COLLECTION.— (A) I N GENERAL.—Pursuant to regulations prescribed by the Secretary of Defense, information shall be collected on— (i) whether a military protective order was issued that involved either the victim or alleged perpetrator of a sexual assault; and (ii) whether military protective orders involving members of the Armed Forces were violated in the course of substantiated incidents of sexual assaults against members of the Armed Forces. (B) SU B MISSION OF DATA.—The data re q uired to be collected under this subsection shall be included in the annual report submitted to Congress on sexual assaults involving members of the Armed Forces. (2) INFORMATION TO MEMBERS.—Not later than 1 8 0 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Defense shall submit to the Committees on Armed Services of the Senate and the House of Representatives a report explaining the measures being ta k en to ensure that, when a military protective order has been issued, the member of the Armed Forces who is protected by the order is informed, in a timely manner, of the member ’ s option to request transfer from the command to which the member is assigned. (d) COM P TROLLER G ENERAL REPORT.— (1) REPORT REQUIRED.—Not later than one year after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Comptroller General shall submit to the Committees on Armed Services of the Senate and the House of Representatives a report containing a review of the capability of each of the Armed Forces to timely and effectively investigate and ad j udicate allegations of sexual assault against members of the Armed Forces. The Comptroller General shall determine whether existing policies and implementation plans of the Department of Defense, and the resources devoted for this purpose, are adequate or negatively affect the ability of each of the Armed Forces to facilitate the prevention, investigation, and adjudication of such allega- tions under the Uniform Code of Military Justice. (2) E LEMENTS OF REPORT.—The report required by para- graph (1) shall refer to and incorporate the recommendations of the Defense Task Force on Sexual Assault in the Military Deadlin e .R e ports . 10USC 11 3 note.
