( 1 ) A n assessment of the current and future domestic defense modeling and simulation technological and industrial base and its ability to meet current and future defense require- ments. ( 2 ) A description of current and planned programs and activities of the Department of Defense to enhance the ability of the domestic defense modeling and simulation technological and industrial base to meet current and future defense require- ments. ( 3 ) A description of current and planned Department of Defense activities in cooperation with Federal, State, and local government organizations that promote the enhancement of the ability of the domestic defense modeling and simulation technological and industrial base to meet current and future defense requirements. ( 4 ) A comparative assessment of current and future global modeling and simulation capabilities relative to those of the United States in areas related to defense applications of mod- eling and simulation. ( 5 ) An identification of additional authorities or resources related to technology transfer, establishment of public-private partnerships, coordination with regional, State, or local initia- tives, or other activities that would be required to enhance efforts to support the domestic defense modeling and simulation technological and industrial base. ( 6 ) O ther matters as determined appropriate by the Sec- retary. SEC.106 0. R E PO R T O N EN ABLI N G CAPABILITIES F OR SPECIAL OPER - ATIONS FORCES. (a) RE POR TRE QUI RE D .— N ot later than 2 70 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Commander of the United States Special Operations Command, j ointly with the commanders of the combatant commands and the Chief of Staff of the Army, the Chief of Naval Operations, the Chief of Staff of the Air Force, and the Commandant of the M arine Corps shall submit to the Secretary of Defense and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff a report on the availability of enabling capabilities to support special operations forces requirements. (b) M A TTERS TO B EIN C LUDED.—The report required under subsection (a) shall include the following: (1) An identification of the requirements for enabling capabilities for conventional forces and special operations forces globally, including current and projected needs in Iraq, Afghani- stan, and other theaters of operation.
