Chipman, widow of Major Charles Chipman, deceased, late of the twenty- ninth regiment Massachusetts volunteers, one hundred and twenty-five dollars, in payment for horse lost by her said husband in the military service on the eighteenth of August eighteen hundred and sixty-three. Be it enacted by the Senate and House if Representatives of the United Payment to States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Treas- £‘;‘,‘:f.£:: Kl°‘“' ury be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to pay to Ernst F. I Kleinschmidt, of Cincinnati, Ohio, out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated, the sum of twelve hundred and fifty dollais, to reimburse him for the same sum paid by him to the collector of internal revenue for the second district in Ohio for four city lots in Cincinnati, which lots were sold by said collector to the said Ernst F. Kleinschmidt for the payment of internal revenue tax, and which tax was subsequently declared by the superior court of Cincinnati to have been illegally asse<sed, and the sale of said lots to said Ernst F. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United H P¤Y¥¤é°¤;d°° States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Treas- °m'y u ° ury be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to pay to Henry Rudd, of Henry county, Iowa, the sum of nine thousand one hundred and fifty dollars, out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated, in full for all losses and compensation to said Henry Rudd for horses purchased and delivered under a contract with the government. Bishop, of Quincy, Illinois, for services in March and April, anno Domini eighteen hundred and sixty-three, to finish the work left undone on the assessment lists in the fourth district of Illinois, by Mr. Sutkin, an assistant assessor, at his decease, such a sum, not exceeding two hundred and thirty-six dollars, as shall be equal to that now fixed by law to be paid assistant assessors for such service; the said sum of money, when ascertained, to be paid out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated.
