And whereas, the said treaty having been submitted to the Senate of Rattncation, ..he United States for its constitutional action thereon, the Senate did, on ;£‘t:m°"d' the nineteenth day of July, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-six, ` advise and consent to the ratification of the same, with amendments, by a resolution in the words and figures following, to wit : -— IN Exncumvn Sagsion, Snnnn or Tmt UNITED STATES, uly 19, 1866. Resolved, (two thirds of the senators present concurring,) That the Senate advise and consent to the ratification of the treaty of cession and indemnity concluded at the city of Washington on the fourteenth day of June, eighteen hundred and sixty-six, by and between the United States, reprfesented by their Commissioners, and the Creek nation of Indians, with the ollowiug AMENDMENTS : 1st. Article III. line 21, after the word "paid," insert the words: in A••u,p.786. money and divided. And whereas the foregoing amendments having been fully explained Amendments and interpreted to the aforenamed delegates at large and special delegates °”°”*°d ”°· of the Creek nation of Indians and southern Creeks, they did, on the twenty-third day of July, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-six, give their free and voluntary assent to said amendments, in the words and figures following, t.o wit :- Whei·ens the Senate of the United States did, on the 19th day of July, 1866, advise and consent to the ratification of the treaty of cession and indemnity concluded at the city of WVashington on the 14th day of June, 1866, by and between the United States, represented by their Commissioners, and the Creek nation of Indians, with the following amendments, to wit:-·— 1st.
