Sm. 2028. No person shall be appointed a supervisor of election or a supm-mon md deputy marshal, under the preceding provisions, who is not, at the time deputygmrshalsto of his appointment, a qnalitied voter of the city, town, county, parish, ‘l:;‘l“l‘6°dV°*£”» election istrict, or voting precinct IH which his duties are to be per- farmed- ss. .· Sec. 2029. And there shall be allowed and paid to each supervisor of election, and each splecial dzputy marshal who is appointed and performs his duty under the prec ing prov1sions, compensation at the (pate of five dollars per day for each day he IS actually_on duty, not excee ing ten days; but no compensation shall be allowed, in any case, to supervisors of election, except to those appointed in cities or towns of twenty thousand or more in abitants. nd the fees of the chief supervisors shall be paid at the Treasury of the United States, such accounts to be; made out, verified, examined, and certified as in the case of agplounts o commissioners, save that the examination or certificate requir may be made by either the circuit or d1str1ct ]udge.
