Section forty-three hundred and eighteen is amended by striking e4218,p.839 out, in the sixth line, the word “ register ", and inserting the word " registry ”. Section forty-three hundred and nineteen is amended by inserting, in 64319, p. 839 the third line, after the word “following", the word "form"; and by striking out, in the thirty-first line, the word " act ", and inserting the word "title". Section forty-three hundred and twenty is amended by striking out, (x45s20, p. 840. in the last line, the words “the duty of six cents per ton being first paid". Section forty-three hundred and forty-seven is amended by striking 94347.1>·844- ont, in the first line, the word "imported ", and inserting thereihr the word “transported ". _ Section forty-three hundred and eighty-one is amended by inserting, 643% P- 851 in the second line of the sixth subdivision, after the word "cents’°¤ ”# comma, and in the third line, after the words ‘* less than fifty tons", a seniicolon; and by adding at the end of the section the following:
- ‘_ Where a surveyor certifies a manifest, or grants a permit, or receives
a certified manifest and grants at permit, the fees arising therefrom shall be received by him solely for his use; and ull other fees arising by virtue of this section shall be received and accounted for by the collector, — or, at his option, by the naval officer, where there is one, and where there is a collector, naval officer, and sniveyor, shall he equally divided monthly between the said officers; and where there is no naval ollieer, two-thirds to the collector and the other third to the surveyor, and where there is only a collector, he shall receive the whole amount thereof; and where there is more than one surveyor in any district., each of them shall receive his proportional part of such fees as shall arise at the port ter which he is appointed; and in all cases where the tonnage of any ship or vessel shall be ascertained by any person appointed for that purpose, such person shall be paid a reasonable compensation tln=refor out of the fees aforesaid, before an y distribution thereof as aforesaid? Section forty-four hundred. and fifteen is amended by striking ont, in t 4415.p-860 the twentieth line, the word “liablc", and inserting the word "nl.>le"; by striking out, in the twenty-sixth line, the word *‘ inspectors", and inserting the word “inspector”; and by inserting, in the twenty-fifth line, after the word ** hulls" the words “ or an inspector of boilers ". Section fortytour hundred and twenty is amended by striking out, in $4420, p. 862. the first line, after the word “ preceding", the word " section", and insertin g therefor the word “ sections ”. Section fortyfour hundred and twentyone is amended by inserting, §4’l2i·P·862· in the fifth line, after the word " made ", a comma. Section forty-four hundred and forty is amended by striking out, in §4440.p·865- the second line, the wori ‘°inspector", and inserting the word "inspectors ".
