Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United M4-— States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Treas- - P¤~y¤¤¤¤¤¤»¤¤L<>¤i* ury be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to pay to Louis Rosen- I§°*f?,“b““’“"" ]"°" baum the sum of onethousand lour hundred and twenty four dollars and ° M (' thirtyseven cents in lieu of check numbered Atwenty seven thousand and eighteen, on the assistant treasurer of the United States at New York, dated the fifth day of January, eighteen hundred and seventy- iour, payable to the order of said Louis Rosenbaum, and signed by M. P. Small brevet-brigadier general and commissary of subsistence; which said check, it is claimed, has been lost, and was never received by the said Louis Rosenbaum: Provided, That before the payment here- Proviso. inbefore authorized, the Secretary of the Treasury shall be satisfied that said check has not been paid, and, further, that the said Louis Rosenbaum shall execute a bond of indemnity to the United States, with sufficient sureties, against the claim of the payee in said draft or the claim of any person or persons in possession of or claiming the same; and also to fully indemnify the United States against all loss and damages in the premises. r MILTON SAYLER, . Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Treas- _ P=w¤¤¤<>¤¤¢~¤<> 1>¤¤·· ury be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to pay to Daniel Wormer, **1 W°"“‘°"· of Albany, New York, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, the sum of two thousand dollars, in full compensation for expenses incurred in carrying-out a contract, with the United States to furnish one thousand two hundred cavalry horses.
