Aug, 15, 1374; CHAP. 326.--An act for the relief of the heirs of William Stevens Preamble Whereas, one William Stevens made settlement and pre-eruption on ' a certain tract of land hereinafter mentioned, and prior to the survey thereof was driven off by Indians, returned and died on said land before perfecting his claim thereto under the then existing laws: Théefore, Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United Ham of Wmmm States of America in Congress assembled, That the heirs of William Ste- $,,,,0,,, may Bum vens are hereby authorized to enter at the United States land office at land. Sioux Falls, Dakota Territory, the southeast quarter of section numtered sixteen, in township numbered one hundred and one, in range forty-nine, upon the payment of one dollar and twenty-five cents per acre therefor; and when said entry shall have been made and returned to the Commissioner of the General Land-Office, a patent shall issue therefor as in other cases of pre-emption entries.
