Meade, late a paymaster in the United States Navy, and credit him with the sum of twenty-five hundred and forty-tive dollars and twenty-two cents, for unavoidable losses and checkagcs sustained by him in the legitimate performance of his duties as paymaster in the United States Navy, from eighteen hundred and sixty-two to eighteen hundred and seventy-two, which sum stands now charged against him at the United States Treasury Department.
