Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Zlnited I¤Sr<>¢t<>F of States of Ameriea in Congress assembled, That there shall be appointed P1“m"i”€> Dismm by the Commissioners of the District of Columbia an inspector of plumb. °f C°1°mbm' ing for said District, whose duty it shall be, to inspect all houses in course of erection, and pass upon the plumbing and sewerage of said houses. And the health officer of the District of Columbia is hereby authorized, under direction of the Commissioners, to execute and enforce Regulations- regulations governing plumbing, house drainage, and the ventilation of house sewers; and any person who shallneglect or refuse to comply with the requirements of the said regulations when promulgated shall Penalty. be punishable by a fine of from twenty-nve to two hundred dollars for each and every such offense, or in default of payment of fine to 1mpr1s- onment for thirty days. CHAP. 28.-An act making appropriations for the support of the Military Academy ———i-———— for the fiscal year ending June thirtieth, eighteen hundred and eighty-two, and for other purposes. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United Appropriations. States of America in Congress assembled, That the following sums be, S“l‘l’°N’ Of Mil? and the same are hereby, appropriated, out of any money in the Treas- °‘"y A°“d"“‘Y‘ ury not otherwise appropriated, for the support of the Military Academy for the fiscal year ending June thirtieth, eighteen hundred and eighty-two: Pay ofprofessors For pay of professors, twenty-nine thousand eight hundred and six- Mld <>fl¤<>¤S· teen dollars and sixty-seven cents. For one commandant of cadets, in addition to pay as captain in the line, one thousand two hundred dollars. For pay of one instructor of practical military engineering, in addition to pay as first lieutenant, nine hundred dollars. , For pay of one instructor of ordnance and science of gunnery, in addition to pay as first lieutenant, nine hundred dollars. For pay of eight assistant professors, in addition to pay as first lieutenants, four thousand dollars. For pay of three instructors of cavalry, artillery, and infantry tacgca, in addition to pay as first lieutenants, one thousand five hundred o ars. r For pay of four assistant instructors of cavalry, artillery, and infantry tactics, commanding companies, in addition to pay as second lieutenants, 4 two thousand four hundred dollars. For pay of cadets, one hundred and sixty thousand dollars; and no padet sh all receive more than at the rate of five hundred and forty dollars a year. For pay of the teacher of music, one thousand and eighty dollars.
