Whereas, Henry Durkee was enrolled and served as a private in Com- Preamble. pany B, Second Regiment of Wisconsin Infantry, from the sixteenth day of February, eighteen hundred and sixty-two, until the eighteenth day of May eighteen hundred and sixty-two, when he was discharged, and also afterwards enrolled and served as a private in Company E, Fifth Regiment of Wis<:onsin Infantry, from the twenty- seventh day of August, eighteen hundred and sixty-four, until the seventeenth day of May, eighteen hundred and sixtyhve, when he was discharged, both of said enrollments and terms of service being under the name of Henry Grant, the same being his step-father’s name; and » Whereas, since his discharge he has assumed his right name, to wit, Henry Durkee: Therefore, Be it enactedby the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of War be Henry Durkee. authorized and directed to issue to Henry Durkee a discharge from each hM*h*°·’¥ ¤‘¤¢=<>¤1 of the above-named regiments, under the name of Henry Dnrkee, and is ° “"g°d' ` hereby directed to correct the records so as to make it appear that Henry Dm-kee served in Company B, Second Regiment of Wiscornsin Infantry, from the sixteenth day of February, eighteen hundred and sixty-two, until the eighteenth day of May, eighteen hundred and sixty- two, and also served in Company E, Fifth Regiment of Wisconsin Infantry, from the twenty-seventh day of August, eighteen hundred and sixty-four, until the seventeenth day of May,eighteen hundred and sixty- ilve: Provided, That before the discharges- are issued to Henry Durkce Prairiso. · he shall tile satisfactory proof with the Adjutant-General of the Army Prwi that he is the identical person who served in Company B, Second Wisconsin Infantry, and Company E, Fifth Wisconsin Infantry, under the name of Henry Grant. _ Approved, March 3, 1887. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Treas- Samuel F. Rico. ury be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to pay Samuel F. Rice, P¤y¤¤¤¤t te of Montgomery, Alabama, out of any moneys in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, the sum of one thou and dollars, the same to bein full payment and satisfaction for his services as assistant prosecuting attorney for the people of the United States in forty~two criminal cases in the circuit court of the United States for the middle district of Alabama, forty-one of which were against deputy marshals for alleged violations of section fifty-four hundred and thirtyeight of the Revised Statutes, and the other for alleged perjury. Be it enacted by the Senate and House oj Representatives of the United States ofzlmerica in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Interior Thomas J. Hrvbe, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to place on the pension- P°°°’°”· roll, subject to the limitations and provisions of the pension laws, the name of Thomas J. Hays, of Rock Castle County, Kentucky, late a private in Company I, Third Regiment Kentucky Volunteers, and whose application in the Pension Office is numbered three hundred and fifty- two thousand four hundred and twenty-six.
