Hughes, as an enlisted man on the rolls of Company I, Fifth Tennessee Mounted Infantry, and duly mustered into the military service on the sixteenth day of November, eighteen hundred and sixty-four, and killed in action November twenty-first, eighteen hundred, and sixty-four.
