Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That it shall be Lexingwu Pontoon lawful for the Lexington Pontoon Bridge Company, a corporation Egggg Mf,'§‘0p,,‘,'{’R'}{,§’, having authority from the State of Missouri, its successors and as- M L•¤i¤€¤>¤·M<>- signs, to build, construct, and maintain a pontoon wagon and foot bridge across the Missouri River at some convenient point in or near the corporate limits of the city of Lexington, in Lafayette County, in said State, and extending to the county of Ra , opposite thereto. Sec. 2. That said bridge shall be built and located under and sub- secmuzgs wuw ject to such regulations for the security of the navigation of said °”""°p *°°°‘ river as the Secretary of War shall prescribe; and to secure that object the said company or corporation shall submit to the Secretary of War, for his examination and approval, a design and drawings of the bridge, and a map of the location showing, the entire riverfront of the city of Lexington, with its wharves and landings including the bridge’s proposed location, the location of any other bridge or bridges, and sha furnish such other information as may be required or a full and satisfactory understanding of the subject; and until the said `Aplan and location of the bridge are approved by the Secretary of ar the bridge shall not be commenc or built, and should an; change be made in the plan of said bridge during the pro ess o construction such changes shall be sulzgect to the approval of the Secretary of Wa1·: Provided, That the bri ge already uilt if mlm. made to conform to the requirements of this act and the said regu- mmm; mags. lbatipns of the Secretary of War may be accepted in lieu of a new r1 e. s SET!. 4.
