Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United P£,‘§"°“ *****1 C"'"` States of America in Congress assembled, That the Commissioner of Péyvwnrw- Internal Revenue be, and is hereby, authorized and directed to reopen the refunding cl-aim of Cogswell and Company, of Saint Louis, Missouri, for one thousand three hundred and six dollars, which claim is now on file in his office, to examine it, and allow so much thereof as he may find to have been paid in excess of the amount required by law; and the Secretary of the Treasury is hereby authorized and required to pay such amount as is allowed by the Commissioner of Internal Revenue, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated. Newton, widow of General H John Newton. — _ Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United {},f‘,,'§,’{,,E,‘{‘I`°"*°"‘ States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Interior be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to place on the pension roll the name of Anna M. Newton, widow of John Newton, late major-general of volunteers and brigadier-general of the United States Army, and pay her a pension at the rate of seventy-five dollars a month. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United {,’g§g0§ B’°‘"‘· States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the ` Interior be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to place on the pension roll the name of Dolly S. Brown, dependent mother of Irving Stevenson, late of Company D, Third Regiment New York Cavalry Volunteers; and that said Dolly S. Brown be granted a pension of twelve dollars per month, subject to the provisions of the pension laws. Hudson, late a member of Company I, One hundred and tenth Regiment of Illinois Infantry, from twenty-four to fifty dollars per month. Approved, February 4, 1897 .

 CHAP. 157.-An Act Granting a pension to Silas S. \Vhite.

White, late a private in Company G, Seventy-seventh Regiment New York Infantry Volunteers (and also a sold1er•1u the Seminole Indian war in Florida), on the pension roll at the rate of thirty dollars per month, the same to bein lieu of the pension now received by him. Approved, February 4, 1897.
