Bc it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United gpblgc 1?¤¤· for States of America in Congress assembled, That the Act entitled "An Act tramioadsg caxsziéetc. to permit the use of the right of way tlirough the public land for V°*-”·P·”°5· tramroads, canals, and reservoirs, and for other purposes," approved January twenty-iirst, eighteen hundred and ninety live, be, and the same is hereby, amended by adding thereto the following: “ That the Secretary of the Interior be, and hereby is, authorized and empowered, under general regulations to be Hxed by him, to permit the use of right of way upon the public lands of the United States, not within limits of any park, forest, military, or Indian reservations, for tramways, canals, or reservoirs, to the extent of the ground occupied -*****1*- by the water of the canals and reservoirs, and fifty feet on each side of the marginal limits thereof, or fifty feet on each side of the center line ` of the tramroad, by any citizen or association of citizens of the United B;;:,,;? aggtyubggg States, for the purposes of furnishing water for domestic, public, and purposes. other beneficial uses. —m ·m¤1¤·>¤,¤r¤. “SEc. 2. That in all matters not otherwise specially provided for. the °" ’°‘ "" provisions of law which provide for the organization of the militia of the District of Columbia shall apply to the naval battalion. Sec. 5. That general routine of duty, discipline, and exercises of the naval battalion, and parts thereof, shall conform with the laws, customs, and usages of the Navy, as fur as the same apply, and where they do not apply then such routine of duty, discipline, and exercises shall conibrm to the laws governing the volunteer forces of the District of Columbia.
