Decca shall be held and considered to have been mustered into the service of t°§g,,tm€M., y_..m__ the United States as a captain in the First Battalion or Cavalry, Mis- §f,,}$’*g’°’{§,'gé sissippi Marine Brigade, on the eighth day of July, eighteen hundred s¤s¤2%$.1864: ` and sixty-three, and to have served as such continuously thereafter until he was -mustered out of service on the twenty-ninth day of August, eighteen hundred and sixty-four, and he shall be entitled to the pay _ and allowances of a captain of cavalry for the period comprised between said dates: Provided, That the pay and allowances actually received by _€{’ggg>ggi0u him for the period covered by this bill shall be deducted from the sum ` otherwise to be paid thereunder.
