That the said board of directors may be increased from time 1’<>W¤¤¤ 0* °**!'¤1‘¤- to time to a number equal to the number, for the time being, of Masonic lodges in the District of Columbia, and the said board shall be capable of taking and holding the funds, proiperty, and efects of said corporation, which funds, propertv, or e ects shall never- be divided among the members of the said society or corporation, but shall descend to their successors, duly elected in the manner heretofore specified, for the promotion of the principles of the said corporation and the benevolent purposes of the society which they represent; but this provision shall not prevent the said board of directors from a§¤§%i¤;;?&#i£¤w; carrying out the principles of the society or corporation, namely, the bexii. °m immediate payment to the widow, orphans, heir, assignee, or legatee of a deceased member as many dollars as there are members in good standing on the books of the corporation, not exceeding one thousand ··“¤**· dollars, or the amount s ecified in the certificate of membership held by said member: , however, That no certificate of membership {gage? mmm of shall be issued by said corporation for an amount exceeding two eeeuseeee ermemuee thousand dollars.; . mp' Approved, February 5, 1901.
