Whereas by Act of Congress approved March third, nineteen hun- V°1'31’p`u86‘ dred and one, the Joint Committee on the Library was authorized to pprchase a replica of the bronze statue of Rochambeau, by Ferdmand . amar, and pedestal for the same; and d Whereas a contract has been entered into `between said committee and Jules Boeufvé, chancellor and attaché of the French embassy to the United States, dated April thirtieth, nineteen hundred and one, for the purchase thereof, for the sum of seven thousand Eve hundred dollars, delivered in Washinpton, District of Columbia, but which contract provides that said J es Boeufvé shall not be required to pay any customs duty for the admission of said statue and pedestal at any port of the United States: Now therefore Resolved by the Senate and House of Rtpresentatéves of the United §*(g,¤t*{*e‘5°*‘1f€°gm§, States of America in Oongrese aaa Zed, hat the Secretary of the - amy.
